molars again??

Yeah yeah .. its another 2 molars.. now at the bottom.. ergh.. and now i have difficulties brushing her teeth!! Nowadays it seems so hard to do it!! She wont allow me, and the syndrome 'i want to do it myself' is so killing me!!!! Any tips of how to brush her teeth???

Hi zoora,my son irfan now is 1 year and 8 months old,but im not sure how old zahraa is,but yes,at this stage they want to show their capability esp to their parents.Just wanna share wif you based on my readings and experience,i will so-called "play" with him when comes to brushing teeth time and brush his teeth or whenever he wants to do it by himself,i just allow him to do so.The most important thing, let she feel that this activity is very interesting and she can take part as well. Then once finished, i will ask him to show his teeth in front of the mirror to praise him how clean his teeth (baby kan suka kena puji...) Hope this will help

brush your teeth together, exaggerate your brushing actions and they'll want to imitate you. and yes puji over2 skit.. hahaha
remember to teach them to brush the tongue too...
if you need to aid brushing, make it as fast and as swift as possible also sing silly songs...
nice colourful toothbrush helps too i guess.. don't have to be expensive.
I tried giving my LO her own electric type but she doesn't like it switched on, so that defeats the purpose so we stick to kiddie soft bristled
Have fun! don't worry if you dun get to brush some spot once in a while. As long as she dun take to much sweets it's ok

aku ajar sarah kumuh skarang. she likes it. donno kenapa lately tak suka brush her teeth, but at least dia kumuh. "sarah kumuh" she said. ahaha. ok la...

I bought colgate brand kat guardian and RM30+ another choice is oral-b RM99 kot.
The colgate one, bristles irreplacable, but battery bleh tukar, Kalau suka kunyah toothbrush like Afya, 2minggu dah kena tukar toothbrush.
oral-b bleh tukat bristles and tak sure battery apa dia pakai.. but it's either rechargable or bluh put new ones lah.
Am teaching LO to spit into the sink.. terkekek2 dia gelak.. hehehe

At some point in time, they want to do everything by themselves. we need to let them have the opportunity to explore, too. Arthur wanted to brush his own teeth, too and Momma is afraid they won't be clean enough. So, we worked out some kind of 'agreement'... when it's dark (i.e. bedtime), Momma will brush for little one. When it's bright (i.e. morning), Arthur can brush on his own. Checked with dentist.... night is more important that the morning brushing... made sense to me, too ;)

wow.. great tips from all mommies here.. i will start trying to brush together with her.. and get proper tooth brush (pretty ones eh??) are the tooth paste required? Ahh Liz.. thanks for reminding to brush the tounge.. Azlin.. my lil girl is 1 year, 1 month .. and Jess. they want to do it all now.. sometimes it drives me crazy ..but sometimes it made me smile proud... she's not a lil baby anymore :D

and then tooth paste,just letak sikit je amik syarat sbb baby u kecik lgi,maybe dia akan tertelan.so kalo letak sket je,no harm for him.

great tips u guys! my LO is 16mths, baru ada 6 teeth. hates to brush her teeth but she will stick the toothbrush in my mouth if i say brush your teeth!

bought the colgate electric rm24. i do it for her, sometimes she laughes, sometimes she hates it. don't care.... better than cavities.

btw she has 3 normal toothbrush, 1 she chose herself, 1 we bought long time ago, 1 she took one of our travel toothbrush (those free ones from hotels). i think i need to train her more in terms of dental hygiene!

I tried brushing together with her yesterday.. all she did was eat the toothpaste.. and bite those brush hehehehe.. something has to start somewhere rite ?

My Ari kecik lagik.. only 2 teeth (another 2 is erupting though..) so.. dia kasik jek I 'brush' his teeth (brush pun kain or the gum brush.. haha :P)

Do you guys think it's time already to get the soft bristled kiddie one?

I dunno.. boleh kot.. my niece pun ada this habit of makan ubat gigi... i dont think it is necessary nak bagi tooth brush awal sgt.. dulu i have this tooth brush yg letak kat jari tu.. then i beli from pigeon.. ada 3 stage of diff brush.. dia ada untuk 2-4 gigi, 4-8 gigi.. mcm tu la kot.. masa tu ok jugak and zahraa willing je bukak mulut. ni gigi dah ada 12 start plak tak nak bukak mulut.. and actually cuci dgn kain tu i found the most effective.esp pakai kain lampin tu
