Sorry this has to take some time :D I really have to take time for this..
I thought i'm gonna have sumthing new for myself.. just a gift from me to me :D .. so i had a new pouch made by Jess@peekaroobaby and a new mei tai from mei's tai
Of course they can.. and at last my dear husband has his own pouch, fabric from Kamdar and made by Jess@peekaroobaby . I thought i measured right, but it seems a bit loose for him.. maybe next time, whatever the measurement is, it has to be reduced a bit to get a perfect fit. anyway he seems happy to wear Zahraa around now.. and of course this really shows baby bonding is not only for mommy and baby :d
its a dull morning.. rain just stopped.. and I decided to take Zahraa down, back carrying her :D ...
as a few complain about back pain after back carrying, i erm.. cant say much as Zahraa is a small baby, weighing 7.6 kg only.. I tried back carry with pouch before, ended up with back pain, body ache, and what ever it is.. but with Snugg mt, so far.. havent had any... as I said, maybe Zahraa is small.. or we havent not reach 5 hours yet.. hahahha
And here is how i fold and keep my mei tai :P
I have a different story here.. normally, friends tested mei tai in shopping mall, or on a vacation.. but i tried it in the office (as first time trial).. Yup, I took Zahraa to the office today. the nursery yesterday doesnt work out.. when i went there to picked her up, I could hear she screamed. And she's not taking her milk from them. The blood coming out was.. I think.. hmm never mind I dont want to say.. (just bersangka baik je la..)
yeah i know... seems like a freak.. 3 entries in a row.. hahahahah .. okay, they truth is, it a day after Raya Haji, and almost everyone in the office took extra leave.. I am the only architect available today, and i'm here with 2 other boys, and 3 three trainees.. (and is is DAMN boring..)
TIPS AND TRICKS
- give yourself a BOUNCE! while pulling on your shoulder straps to bring the baby as close to you as possible.
- always wear newborns with the straps tied behind their back or crossed behind their back- NEVER under their butt as this leaves the sides open.
- if your small baby does not like hiding her head while awake, or if your toddler prefers her arms free, shorten the body before tying the waist straps.
Remember I once said some baby refuse to be back carried - they push us away and get cranky.. so this is what i do.. found this in some website
Getting Baby Into the Back Carry
Getting your baby into a mei tai or another soft pack carrier is pretty straightforward. Back carries are popular - but first you need to get your baby onto your back!
With both the mei tai and the onbuhimo styles you can "swing" your baby onto your back. Your baby should have good head control before you start using a back carry position no matter what carrier you are using.
- Start on you knees with your baby lying on the carrier beside you. The top straps should be under baby's armpits. Grab the straps and bring them tightly around your baby's chest.
- Gently place your baby over your shoulder (as if you were putting on a diaper bag strap). Bend forward so your back makes a nice table for your baby, and bring one strap over to your other shoulder. Presto! Your baby is on your back!
- You can also place your baby on your hip and "hop" her around to your back. If you're using a mei tai you can put it on a couch or chair.
- Place your baby on top of it so that the bottom straps are coming out between her legs. Sit in front of her so her legs are straddling you a little and tie the bottom straps around your waist. Then using tension on the top straps, pull her against your back and slowly stand up!
The next thing you do with a mei tai is pull the straps up over your shoulders. Cross them for a more secure fit and bring them under your armpits and around to your back.
You don't have to cross them if you don't want to or don't want such a tight fit. You can also tie them (when crossing them) for an especially secure fit.
Pull them under your baby's bottom, then under her legs and to your front. Tie them around your waist.
I still havent got to try using my mt outside the house.. ergh... cant wait.. every time we went out.. my dear husband wants to carry her, in baby bjorn of course.. so I still cant get any pictures in action yet.. however, I always practiced in the house!! yeah!! washing, doing laundry, and in the kitchen... I back carried Zahraa!!! and she did fall asleep once in it..at first she kept waiving here and there..saying 'bye, bye'.. then suddenly she became so quite and stiff.. then i saw her 'lentok' behind me, through the mirror at my kitchen sink (yup.. funny, there's a mirror at my kitchen sink, a souvenir from previous owner) I hope this weekend, we could snap some shots around our house - hope we dont have any plans...
