I planned to do this sometime ago... but hasnt got the chance to. so here is some review of the diapers Zahraa recently add.. our stash is enough now.. we are CDing most of the time now.. Zahraa just used 2 sposies (disposables) at her nursery everyday.. the rest.. its all CD....

Yup.. I said its those molars.... but it wasnt all that after all... Yesterday, Zahraa was diagnosed with hand food and mouth disease.. (HFM) It is at early stage, there's only 3 spots, but the caretaker at her nursery spot them early enough for us to diagnos it early and be quarantined. She is not allowed to go to school for 3-7 days, or until the spots become black.. poor my lil girl . . her tantrum is actually caused by body ache :( I am worry about her, and worry about my works.. am at critical stage of two submissions. I had to tkae emergency leave of course, no one else for us to run to now.. :(

I hope Zahraa will get better soon.. for now, she is having mild fever, and lost her appetite to eat, and saliva sometimes drools out. Thats the early symptoms.  We have to go to the paed again this monday. Pray for us

Zahraa had difficulties to sleep every night.. and she screamed, cried, and had been cranky for about a week now.. and last night was a totally a night mare for me.. This is the first time we had Zahraa cried all night.. screaming, pushing me away, refuse her bottle, and what more.. and this morning, we had the answer.. she had 2 1st molars coming.. in the upper gums.. it must have been painful.. poor lil girl.. :(( wonder what else should I do to soothe her. baby rip suggested gripe water.. will try that tonight, thanks.. 

Baby’s First Teeth - Tooth Eruption Patterns

General tooth eruption patterns for babies from birth to age three: When teeth appear is variable and based on heredity. Some babies teethe earlier, some later. Girls tend to teethe earlier than boys. They usually appear in fours, 2 lower then 2 upper. On average, the first tooth appears at 6 months. - At about 6 months of age, the lower central incisors (bottom front teeth) generally erupt. These are followed by the upper incisors and both upper and lower lateral incisors. - By the first birthday, eight incisors are usually present. (4 upper middle & 4 bottom middle) - At about 15 months of age, the first 4 primary molars (back teeth used for grinding food) erupt. (2 upper and 2 lower) - Around age 2, the 4 canines are present. (2 upper & 2 lower) - Around age 2 1/2, the second 4 primary molars erupt. (2 upper & 2 lower) - By three years of age, all of the primary teeth are generally present. What to expect while baby is teething Teeth slowly slide and twist their way through sore gum tissue, which is painful. You know your baby is teething by doing the Gum-Massage Test: run your finger along the edge of the gums, if you feel swollen ridges then they are teething. If the baby will let you, you can look inside and actually see a bulging blue pocket on the gums. Molar teething is the most difficult or when several teeth are coming out at once. Some babies are more susceptible to illness while teething. -          Drooling: which can cause a drool rash on the mouth, drool cough, drool diarrhea, diaper rash, low fever (max 101 F), and irritability. -          Biting: you will notice an increase in biting, on the spoon when you feed him, your hands, and sometimes breast. -          Night waking: Growing teeth don’t rest at night. A previously good sleeper may frequently awaken during peak teething times. -          Refusing to eat: a few babies may refuse to eat solids in this time, and sometimes refuse to nurse too from the pain. Try cold applesauce or frozen fruit slush. How to soothe the pain -          Can use a cold spoon when feeding solids -          Something to bite on: Popsicle, frozen bagel, refrigerated teething ring, chicken leg bone, teething biscuits, cold washcloth, chamomile tea on a washcloth then put in freezer for 30 minutes. -          Anbesol not recommended because their safety is not assured. Also, the numbing feeling it produces can be just as painful. -          For using Tylenol, you could use it at night before bed for one night or two, but it’s not good to give too much because it uses the liver to work. Homeopathic teething tablets are a safer, natural, and better way.  Brushing -          Dentists now recommend cleaning the gums and teeth when they first appear. Use a gauze wrapped finger every night before bedtime. Make it part of the routine so it becomes a habit. -          By 18 months, they can try to brush their own teeth. Be a good model and show excitement. First let baby play with toothbrush and try to brush the teeth by herself. Then you can hold her hand while she holds the brush and brush them well. -          You don’t need toothpaste until all the teeth come in, then you can use children’s toothpaste. There is non-fluoride toothpaste for infants that are safe to use and swallow.  What to expect in the first dentist visit - Your child's first dental visit should occur near their first birthday or 6 months after their first tooth erupts. They would see a pediatric dentist. - You hold your child while the dentist quickly looks at the teeth. - It is recommended that children see their dentist every six months so they get used to visiting the dentist and any decay can be discovered and treated early. Prevention is the key. Went to the nursery to check out the kids.. they just had their lunch. And everybody had their turn drinking water and something cute makes me laugh that day

Dato Harun Din came for a forum last week and I for sure dont wanna miss. We havent took Zahraa to any talk for quite some time. The last time at a mosque was when she was 4-5 months, if i'm not mistaken..and the last one was with Sheikh Yusuf Estes.. that was when she was 7 m.o. At last came this opportunity, good forum, great place, and seems its easy to take her there..Seem it all goes well..except for I am quite worry while praying, as there are stairs at both ends of the women floor

Mom, next time bring some toys for my entertainment ok...

Of all the natural parenting stuffs, i did not practice the baby led weaning thingie.. I just cant stand the mess.. (have to prepare food, then bathe her after that, then clean up quick so she didnt pick up stuffs from the floor, then mop .. arghh.. just cant deal with that) So i fed my baby and i had fun.. I love feeding her.

We dont get her flashy toys this year!!! But we did change her into cloth diapering, and I think its a great birthday present. I had a great experience, while zahraa gets all the benefits of not being wrapped in chemical, and zahrein could save on the disposables!! yeah.. everybody happy!!!! We just started, for a week. Zahraa will be using disposables at the nursery only.. There are thousands of articles wrote on the benefits of cloth diapering, so I think I'll skip that.. Just few added point to share with newbies...

1. There are different types on fabric for the inner layer - be noticed

2. There are 2 main closure type, velcro or aplix, snaps and side snap

3. There are so many types of inserts.. to make things simple, Microfiber is easier to dry, hemp is thinner and absorb more, combo is superb

4. Sensitive skin babies might need to try on different stuff, organic material, or fitted types

My no 1 favorite at the moment, Monkey Doodle Micro AIO. It is so easy to use, the making of it is so neat. It fits well, many says it takes time to dry.. but everytime i came back from office, its already dried up (lined in the morning)

Also my favorite, because of the material.. so soft so yummy.. but it is smaller built. Zahraa had to wear large size. I love the side snaps.. so nothing is being busy under belly..

This is coolababy, a cheap brand made in China.. but i think it did quite well too.. material is almost like baby kangas. But the snaps and button are busy down there.. can u see what i mean?? Imagine baby kangas, with the addition of the zip as well....thats why i didnt take any pic of baby kangas. But in a way, baby kanga is good too.. good material, and bigger slot to pun in insert

Its Zahraa's birthday on the 8 february!!!! Alhamdulillah, we are so grateful to experience this moment, so grateful of Zahraa's health, and so greatful that so far we didnt mess up this lil kid... I still remembered 8 February, a year ago, it is early morning that I had the sign that the lil one is coming.. I had prepared myself early for her arrival, and I still remembered, Zahrein and I at last met our lil precious at 4 pm...

Today, Zahraa is a fun lil girl, tough, friendly and independant.. She brings us joy, blessings, peace of mind, and most of all, she make us realize the greatness of Allah. Today, I think we need her more than she needs us actually ..:D

We hope she will grow up to be a good person, a good Muslim, and may she be in good health forever.. aminnn...

oh no!! my baby is going to be 1 soon!! real soon, in less than 30 days!!!! I cant believe this is happening.. (ergh.. the labor room is still in my head) 

The wind has been so strong in Penang lately.. and many has become sick.. including dear Zahraa and today, its me too. I took Zahraa to Dr Hasanah yestarday, and she seems to be having those rotavirus again. but so far, nothing serious, just some viral infection.. She has been vomiting, diarrhea again, running nose, and now coughing.. poor lil girl... cant sleep well
